Today we stop and pause as time stands still.
Semper FI my son
May 12 2004 is a day that time stood still.
Now it seems to others to be just another day.
Like all the other days before.
Can it really be true
Two years ago
Since, I last heard your voice.
Since I saw you smile.
The day time stood still
and changed our lives forever.
The improvised explosive device
took a father, a friend, a brother, a son, a hero.
It took your laughter and our joy.
The day that time stood still.
We find the little things hidden in a box
Camouflage tanks, and humvee hot wheels
You had tucked away.
First love letters and ID bracelets
Long forgotten.
Trumpet music from freshman year band.
And even a music stand.
Treasures whose value can never be measured.
Time stood still as we stop and remember
The little boy that became a man and then a Marine.
once again time will stand still on May 12
In remembrance of you,
To honor you and your sacrifice.
As we remember your laughter, your smile,
your love, your honor, and your courage.
Well done my son carry on until we meet again
where you stand at attention at the Heavenly Gates
